Tim Tebow First NFL QB To Run More Than Pass Since 1974

Tim Tebow's tenure as the Denver Broncos' starting quarterback has been verging on absurdity for some time now, and his performance in the Broncos' Week 10 win over the Chiefs on Sunday just added to that trend. Tebow threw eight passes, completing two, in the 17-10 victory, and ran nine times for 43 yards.

In doing so, Tebow became the first quarterback since 1974 to run more than he passed since 1974, according to the Elias Sports Bureau via Adam Schefter. In that 1974 game, according to ESPN Stats and Information, the Buffalo Bills completed zero passes.

The 1974 Bills did, however, have a couple of decent excuses for their imbalance in that Week 3 win over the Jets: O.J. Simpson ran 31 times for 117 yards in the victory, and quarterback Joe Ferguson ran for a touchdown. And blustery conditions may have convinced Buffalo to keep the ball on the ground and in the hands of its talented running back.
