Adrian Peterson Won’t Wear Brett Favre’s Pants, And Other Insight

It’s been another disappointing year for the Vikings, but that doesn’t mean their best player is any less entertaining. Adrian Peterson sat down with GQ recently, and while he’s (still) the league’s best running back, we also find out that he gives a pretty great interview if you ask the right questions. To wit:

GQ: Which of your teammates least deserves a fashion spread?
Adrian Peterson: Probably my old teammate Brett Favre. But you know, he probably would get into GQ with his Wranglers, a t-shirt and a hat.

GQ: Did he ever give you a pair of Wranglers?
Adrian Peterson: He did. They were tight.

GQ: Do you ever wear them out in public?
Adrian Peterson: No. At all.

And that's before he got to talking about the History Channel.

As he tells Lang Whitaker at GQ:

GQ: What do you do away from football? What are you doing today?
Adrian Peterson: Today’s a day off, so I just relax, kick back with the fam, lay low, rest up and try to let my body recover more. Other than that I’m watching History Channel.

GQ: What do you like about the History Channel?
Adrian Peterson: There are so many different topics that pop up on the History Channel, shows about the spiritual, history, the military, and it really branches out. I could watch that all day.

Wait, what?

I just love intriguing things and finding out about our history, and insight about human beings that really made a difference in this world. I like seeing the different views, about the government, military, life in general, spiritually. You can find it on the History Channel. Now, you can’t believe everything you see on the History Channel, that’s one thing I can tell you. I was looking at one show, and they were talking about how when Moses went up to the mountains to get the Ten Commandments, some people say a spaceship came down, and aliens were a part of the Ten Commandments. It’s kind of sad to me how they tried to take God out of that. I find stuff like that intriguing, but mostly hilarious.

See, this is why we need to have more lifestyle interviews in the NFL news cycle. You could listen to Adrian Peterson give stock answers about the crappy Vikings all year, but aren’t we all better off knowing that he hates Brett Favre’s jeans and loves the History Channel?

Check out the full interview over at GQ.
