The New York Jets' may have lost more than a game on Sunday night against the New England Patriots. In garbage time, LaDainian Tomlinson suffered some kind of knee injury that forced him out of the game and left him with a noticeable limp afterward. Although he was moving under his own power, he will get a MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury, according to a report at ESPN.com.
LaDainian Tomlinson Injury: Jets RB To Have MRI On Knee
LaDainian Tomlinson apparently hurt knee on his final carry of the Jets’ blowout loss to the Patriots.
“I’m all right,” Tomlinson said. “I’ll get some more tests done (Monday) and we’ll go from there. My leg got hit low and I grabbed my leg.”
Tomlinson suffered the injury when he was tackled by Julian Edelman, who normally plays wide receiver for the Patriots but was in the game as a nickel back because of other injuries.
With the Jets playing again on Thursday at the Denver Broncos, it seems likely that Tomlinson will miss at least one game. If he's unable to play, Shonn Greene's backup duties would likely fall to Joe McKnight.
