Matt Schaub Injury: Texans QB Out Several Weeks With Significant Foot Injury

Matt Schaub suffered a significant foot injury last week against the Bucs and he has already been ruled out for Week 12.

The Houston Texans are playing like one of the league's best teams and they're doing it without a couple of their best players in Andre Johnson and Mario Williams, who have both been out with injury.

The Texans may have to continue winning without another significant member of the team -- Matt Schaub. Texans coach Gary Kubiak said at his Monday press conference that Schaub has a significant foot injury, which he hurt at the end of the first half. No word on any specifics about Schaub's injury but the word "significant" being used to describe a quarterback's injury usually isn't good.

Matt Leinart, Schaub's backup, will be starting Week 12 (after the Texans bye this week) against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Kubiak confirmed. That the Texans are able to make that announcement two weeks in advance shows the severity of the injury.

The Texans are 7-3 and have a 1.5 game cushion over the Tennessee Titans in the AFC South.
