An ACL Tear Makes Life Even Harder Than You Thought

You don’t have to look very far to find a torn ACL in the NFL these days. At times, football stadiums across the league have looked more like the famous tracking shot from Gone with the Wind, the fields littered with wounded football players.

For teams, losing a player to IR is never easy. For the players themselves, those torn ACLs mean surgery and months of rehab, but the toll of the injury doesn't end there. It impacts the little things too, as explained by St. Louis Rams tight end Michael Hoomanawanui, who tore his ACL hurdling a Cleveland Browns defender last week.

#thingstheydonttellyouwithtornacl .... How hard it will be to go number 2 smh

The hidden cost of a torn ACL. Funny, but I don’t recall the announcers mentioning this as Hoomanawanui was being carted off the field.
