On Wednesday morning, Pro Football Talk wondered whether the reported injury Michael Vick suffered in the Philadelphia Eagles loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 10 was actually a rib injury. PFT theorized that Eagles head coach Andy Reid could be simply saying Vick has an injury to excuse his average game against the Cardinals.

Apparently that's not the case. Reid said on Monday that Vick had a pair of cracked ribs and his status was unknown while ESPN's Adam Schefter updates his injury on Wednesday reporting that as of now Vick is unlikely to play next week against the New York Giants.
This would obviously be a major blow to the Eagles who are 3-6 and probably need to run the table (as unlikely as that is) in order to have any semblance of hope for the postseason.
Vick’s status will be monitored at practice on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. By Friday, the team will have to make a final injury designation on him (though I would guess he’s headed for a questionable label). There’s stilli plenty of time for Vick’s condition to improve as the week goes on.
When Vick briefly left last weekend's game against the Cardinals, it was Vince Young who replaced him so, if Vick can't go in Week 11, expect Young out there.
