Michael Vick Injury: Eagles OC Optimistic Vick Can Play Vs. Giants

The debate over Michael Vick's injury status entering Week 11 continues. Eagles head coach Andy Reid announced on Monday that Vick suffered a couple of broken ribs last Sunday and he wasn't sure what his status would be entering Week 11 against the New York Giants.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter has since reported that, as of Thursday, it seems unlikely Vick will play.

But not everyone agrees with that assessment.

Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Morninhweg met with reporters on Thursday, including the Philly Inquirer, and said he’s optimistic Vick will take the field on Sunday night.

In reality, I imagine no one really knows whether Vick will be playing on Sunday night. We’re probably headed for a game time decision as he continues to recover from a pair of cracked ribs.

Reid has been mum on whether Vick will play, or even who will replace him if he can’t. SB Nation’s Bleeding Green Nation has all a full rundown of all the Vick-related questions issued to Reid.
