The New England Patriots were without Wes Welker when they lined up for their first practice of the week on Wednesday. Welker has a neck injury and it's unclear exactly when he suffered the injury (though here's a guess).
Wes Welker’s Neck Injury Keeps Him Out Of Patriots Practice
Patriots receiver Wes Welker has a neck injury and missed practice for the Patriots on Wednesday.

We’re not sure exactly the severity of his neck injury or what’s wrong but New England reporters are predicting he’ll be fine by Sunday.
Welker is having a terrific season with 848 yards on 86 receptions and seven touchdowns. He's been one of the top few receivers in the league for much of the season, except last week when the Steelers defense did a good job containing him in a loss.
It sounds like those in New England aren’t too concerned with Welker’s injury. We’re coming up on the second half of the season where some veteran players will be given extra days off to recovery.
