ANIMATED: Cullen Jenkins’ Hit On D.J. Ware Causes Concussion

D.J. Ware isn't a premier part of the New York Giants offense but, after a vicious tackle from Cullen Jenkins on Sunday Night Football, the veteran running back will have to watch the rest of the game from the bench. Ware was tackled by Jenkins downfield, causing him to stay on the field for quite awhile late in the second half as the Giants were driving.

Ware suffered a concussion and will be out for the rest of the game, according to NBC’s Michele Tafoya. The hit that caused the concussion doesn’t look legal as it seems Jenkins’ helmet clashed with Ware’s on the blindside tackle, but not flag was thrown regardless.

Ware carried the ball three times on Sunday night, losing three yards in the process, while catching two passes for 17 yards from Eli Manning -- the longest being the 10-yard reception that ultimately ended his evening.
