James Ihedigbo Injury: Patriots Safety Heads To The Locker Room

As bad as the Patriots pass defense has been this year -- they entered Monday's game against the Chiefs ranked dead last in the NFL, giving up 309 passing yards a game -- the last thing they needed was to lose another defensive back to injury.

But that's just what happened, as starting safety James Ihedigbo suffered what appears to be a left arm injury early in the first quarter. What's even worse, the injury may be serious, as he headed straight to the locker room after being tended to on the field.

The only good news for the Patriots is that they're facing the green Tyler Palko, who's making his first career start at quarterback for the Chiefs, who lost Matt Cassel to a hand injury last week. Cassel was placed on injured reserve earlier Monday.
