Nearly the entire first quarter of the Monday Night Football game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the New England Patriots involved the teams punting back and forth. Neither teams offense could get much going, not even Tom Brady. The Chiefs were able to finally get a drive going on their last possession however, in part because of a long 26-yard run by running back Thomas Jones.
Chiefs Vs. Patriots: Thomas Jones Run Leads To Kansas City Score, Chiefs Lead 3-0
The Chiefs pulled out all the stops on offense on the drive. They ran wild cat, short passes, more wild cat, and got a big gainer from Thomas Jones out of nowhere. The drive ultimately stalled out after Tyler Palko took a sack on second down setting up a 3rd-and-15 they could not convert. Ryan Succop drilled home the field goal however, to put the Chiefs up 3-0.
