Darren McFadden Injury: Raiders RB Doesn’t Practice Wednesday

Will Darren McFadden play this Sunday against the Bears? He hasn't suited up since Oct. 23 due to a mid-foot sprain, and while he was able to shed his walking boot last week, he's apparently not quite ready to return to the practice field. From Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee:

Healthy Raider tailbacks: Michael Bush and Rock Cartwright. No McFadden at practice. Taiwan Jones not practicing

Does this rule out a return in Week 12? Not yet. It’s still early in the week, but considering he hasn’t stepped foot on a field -- practice or otherwise -- in four and a half weeks, the odds that he’ll suddenly get right in the next four days don’t seem very encouraging.

Hue Jackson said earlier this week that McFadden wasn’t being “hidden” and that the original diagnosis of a mid-foot sprain still stands. Fortunately, Jackson can afford to give McFadden all the time he needs: Michael Bush has averaged 115.2 rushing yards over the last four weeks in McFadden’s lead, and with one good run will overtake McFadden for the team lead in rushing yards -- he has 599 yards, just 15 shy of McFadden’s 614.

Stay tuned the rest of the week as we continue to monitor McFadden’s status for Week 12.
