Chargers, Jets And Bengals On Upset Watch For NFL Week 12

The Chargers, Jets and Bengals should be upset watch in Week 12 of the 2011 NFL season.

In last week's upset watch, we went 1-2 picking the Titans over the Falcons and the Bengals over the Ravens -- both were wrong. But we also picked the Eagles over the Giants, which saved us from going 0-3 on the week.

Three more teams are on upset watch this in Week 12.

Cleveland Browns over Cincinnati Bengals

Where: Cincinnati, Ohio

Spread: Bengals by seven

Why:

The Bengals just got done battling in two very close games against the Steelers and Ravens, two of the top teams in the AFC and next week the Bengals play the Steelers again. Before that, though, they host the Cleveland Browns, the forgotten team in the division. There's no question that the Bengals are better than the Browns but there wasn't much of a question that the Ravens were better than the Seahawks either. Bad teams beat good teams every week and if the Bengals are still dwelling on their two close losses to top-tier teams or if they're thinking about the Steelers in Week 13, they can get beat by a bad team on Sunday.

Buffalo Bills over New York Jets

Where: East Rutherford, N.J

Spread: Jets by nine

Why:

The only reason I'm picking this game is because the Bills have to get it together sooner or later, right? They were really good to begin the season and then all the sudden the losing flood gates have opened. They still have a lot of talent and even though they've lost Fred Jackson, C.J. Spiller and Tashard Choice can help pick up the slack. Both teams are 5-5 and if the Bills want to make a run to make the playoffs as a wildcard team, they need to start winning now. I, for one, think they can pull it off against an inconsistent Jets team.

Denver Broncos over San Diego Chargers

Where: San Diego, California

Spread: Chargers by six

Why:

The Broncos with Tim Tebow at the helm are different than any team in the league. After starting the season with a 1-4 record, they're now 5-5 with a shot at getting into the playoffs as a wildcard team or maybe even winning the AFC West winner. Now that they're sitting with a 5-5 record and they know that they have a shot at getting into the playoffs, they can smell the blood in the water coming from the Chargers, who have lost five in a row and are obviously falling apart. If the Broncos want a shot at playing in the post season, especially as the AFC West division winner, they need to win on Sunday and they know it.
