When Adrian Peterson went down with an injury last week, the big concern was how they would not just replace his down-to-down production, but who would score their rushing touchdowns. No Vikings running back had found the end zone on a rushing touchdown since Week 12 of the 2010 season. At least that scoring drought is over after Toby Gerhart scored to pull the Minnesota Vikings to within 17-7 of the Atlant Falcons on Sunday.
Falcons Vs. Vikings: Toby Gerhart Scores Rare Non-Adrian Peterson TD
Gerhart has not looked great, rushing for 41 yards on 14 carries, but the score at least showed there’s someone in their back field capable of finding the end zone. Clearly, these are babysteps, but considering the way this season has been going for the Vikings, you really can’t ask for much more than positive signs.
