Sidney Rice Injury: Seahawks WR Done For The Day

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Sidney Rice headed to the locker room with about eight minutes to go in the third quarter of a game against the Washington Redskins. Rice hit his head on the turf earlier in the third quarter. He had to be helped off the field before the Seahawks sent him into the locker room. The Seahawks just announced that Rice will not return to the game.

As to the extent of Rice’s injury, details remain sketchy. Rice left the field in the first quarter with an injury, but soon returned.

Seattle suffered another key injury in the game, losing linebacker David Hawthorne to a knee injury. He was seen on the trainer’s table getting treatment. His return is being called questionable at this point.

Rice leaves the game having not caught a single pass. He did run the ball once for a total of three yards. Hawthorne is Seattle’s top linebacker and a big part of their defense.
