The Washington Redskins halted a six-game losing streak with a road win over the Seattle Seahawks today. Washington intercepted Seattle quarterback Tarvaris Jackson with just 44 seconds left on the clock to seal a 23-17 win. That gives Washington a 4-7 record for the season. For Seattle, this was their seventh loss, and the third time they lost at home this season.

Rex Grossman started at quarterback for the Redskins. He finished the game with 314 passing yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Rookie running back Roy Helu had the best performance of anyone for the Redskins. He picked up 108 rushing yards and a touchdown on 23 carries. He also led the team in receptions with seven grabs for 54 yards.

The Seahawks battled through the loss of wide receiver Sidney Rice, who left the game with a head injury in the third quarter. Of course, Washington made Rice a non-factor prior to that. Running back Marshawn Lynch topped 100 rushing yards for the third time in his last four games. He had 111 rushing yards on 24 carries. He also scored a touchdown on a 20-yard reception from Tarvaris Jackson. Seattle's quarterback finished the game with two touchdowns, one interception and just 144 passing yards.

The win evens Washington's record at 4-7 with the disappointing Philadelphia Eagles, who lost today. Next week, Washington host the New York Jets.

Seattle’s loss drops them to 4-7 as well. Arizona also ended the day with the same record after a win in St. Louis; however, Seattle keeps second place in the NFC West, for now. Seattle hosts the Philadelphia Eagles next week.
