Troy Polamalu Injury: Steelers Safety Shaken Up

Troy Polamalu is known for making quite a few big hits on the field, but the Pittsburgh Steelers safety probably isn't used to hitting players as big as the one he had to take down on Sunday Night Football. The veteran lowered his shoulder to stop Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Steve Maneri, suffering an injury in the process.

Polamalu went low to tackle Maneri, and though he completed the tackle, he was forced to leave the game. It seemed as though he would probably be tested for a possible concussion, but nothing has been confirmed quite yet.

A slowed down version of the hit is included here.

Polamalu has completed 64 tackles so far this season, including two on the Chiefs’ opening drive, along with seven pass deflections. He’s made 578 tackles in his career, some of them vicious, leading to him earning a reputation for hits like the one shown above.
