Wes Welker Injury: Patriots WR Is Back At Practice

Wes Welker missed New England Patriots practice on Wednesday, their first practice of the week in preparation for the New York Giants this weekend. He suffered the injury in Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers but the early indications are that it won't keep him out in Week 9.

Welker returned to practice on Thursday so his chances of playing this weekend look good.

Welker is having a terrific season with 57 receptions for 824 yards but that hasn't stopped some New York defenders, like Antrel Rolle, from saying he can be stopped. The Giants and Patriots will meet this weekend in a Super Bowl rematch from just four years ago.

Welker is clearly the key to the Patriots offense and he and his NFL-best 57 receptions will be the focal point on Sunday.

Check out SB Nation’s Pats Pulpit to see what they’re saying about Welker’s apparently-not-serious injury.
