Randy Edsall Denies Jacksonville Jaguars Coaching Rumors

Maryland coach Randy Edsall refutes the crazy rumor that he could be in the running for the Jacksonville job.

When the Jacksonville Jaguars fired head coach Jack Del Rio, rumors of his possible replacement began to trickle in.

No one was expecting to hear that Maryland Terrapins coach Randy Edsall might be among them. And yet, longtime NFL scout Dave Razzano said exactly that on Twitter on Tuesday.

As nutty as it sounded, it got out there enough that Edsall had to set the record straight with Jason Reid of the Washington Post:

“The only job that I am worried about, and the job that I have got all my heart and soul and attention on, is Maryland,” Edsall told The Post’s Jason Reid on Tuesday. “We are going to do the things necessary to make sure that this program goes where we want it to go.

The strangest part is that this is likely great news for the team rumored to get him and bad news for the team that now keeps him. Sorry, Maryland fans.
