Ahmad Bradshaw has been declared doubtful by the New York Giants, all but ruling out the running back for Sunday's tilt in Foxboro against the New England Patriots. Head coach Tom Coughlin said Friday that Bradshaw's foot injury would have to improve significantly for the back to even be considered a game-time decision. Bradshaw did not practice Friday according to the team's injury report.
Ahmad Bradshaw Injury: Giants RB Is Doubtful For Week 9
Brandon Jacobs should see his workload increase substantially as a direct result of Bradshaw's absence. Jacobs, no stranger to the injury bug himself, is averaging less than 10 carries per game he has participated in this season. Da'Rel Scott and D.J. Ware could see touches as well, but Bradshaw has dominated the rushing load so much up to this point that it is difficult to predict just how carries will be split.
Bradshaw now faces the difficult decision whether to undergo surgery or not. Going forward with any sort of procedure could only further delay his return to the playing field.
