Nothing can stop Wes Welker, fantasy juggernaut. Not losses, not injuries, not the presence of seemingly scores of options for Tom Brady in the Patriots' offense. Welker had 136 receiving yards in New England's 24-20 loss to the Giants, and his nine catches probably helped points-per-reception players substantially.
Wes Welker Fantasy Stats: Patriots’ Sprite Gets Big Numbers Despite Injury
Welker is well on his way to a monstrous season. He had 824 receiving yards on the season with six receiving touchdowns entering Week 9, and was averaging 117 yards receiving per game. Incredibly, that’s an improvement of nearly 60 yards per game from 2010.
Welker was the second-ranked wide receiver according to Yahoo! heading into his match up with the Giants, behind Green Bay's Greg Jennings. But given how few of his other options Brady seems to love when the Pats are up against the wall, Welker should never, ever leave your lineup. Even when he's hurt, after all, Welker produces.
