When the Giants and Patriots meet, a classic is nearly guaranteed. Eli Manning led New York on a game-winning drive to secure a dramatic win on the road.
Unfortunately, Eli Manning and the Giants decided the sequel would have the same ending as the original, and drove down the field for a game-winning score, sealing a dramatic 24-20 victory.
Manning threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns in the win, but was especially brilliant on his final drive, finding Jake Ballard for a huge throw over the middle to get into Patriots territory and in the end zone for the game-winning score. And he victimized Kyle Arrington on the drive, drawing a pass interference penalty on the Patriots cornerback who previously picked off what could have been a salt-away touchdown.
Brady threw for 342 yards and two touchdowns in the loss, and found Wes Welker nine times for 136 yards.
The game was scoreless at the half, the first such game in the 2011 NFL season. The Patriots’ victory extended their home winning streak, which dates back to 2008, and Brady’s home winning streak, which dates back to 2006.
The win moves New England to 6-2 on the season. The Giants fell to 5-3 on the year with the loss.
