The Washington Redskins have parted ways with Donte Stallworth, the Washington Post reports. Stallworth was signed by the Redskins shortly after the lockout ended but he's been invisible catching just five passes in the four games he was active.
Donte Stallworth, Washington Redskins Part Ways
The Redskins waived Donte Stallworth on Tuesday to make room for receiver David Anderson.
Stallworth will be replaced by David Anderson, who has been with the Houston Texans for his six-year NFL career, including Kyle Shanahan's tenure in Houston.
Stallworth is a former first round pick so he’s a big name but, really, he hasn’t been productive for some time. The 2007 season was the last time he had over 200 yards receiving and made any season-long impact.
He’ll hit the waiver wire where every team will have the chance to claim him but it’s hard to see him generating any interest from the rest of the league.
