Police Statement On Rolando McClain’s Arrest

The Decatur, Alabama police have released a statement regarding the arrest made on Oakland Raiders LB Rolando McClain and it doesn't paint a pretty picture. According to the statement (via CSN Bay Area), McClain and a man were involved in a fight which ended with McClain holding a gun to his head.

McClain has been charged with Assault in the Third Degree, Menacing, Reckless Endangerment, and Discharging a Firearm Inside the City Limits.

The statement indicates McClain was in an altercation with a man named Jerradius Willingham.

During the fight, the victim sustained injuries to his head and face. He was bleeding from the nose and mouth when speaking to the responding officers. The victim told officers that following the fight, he crawled to his car. He said that when he reached his car, Rolando McClain produced a pistol and aimed it at him. He said that while he was still on the ground, McClain walked over to him and put the gun to his head. The victim reported that he begged McClain not to shoot him and that McClain took the gun away from his head, held it next to his ear and fired it.

McClain is behind held in Decatur until his $2,000 bond is paid, the police said in the statement. The victim has been charged with one count of assault.

The Raiders acknowledged the early reports that McClain was present for a shooting but haven’t yet responded to the charges against McClain.
