Oakland Raiders LB Rolando McClain Sentenced To 180 Days In Jail

Oakland Raiders linebacker Rolando McClain was sentenced to 180 days in jail on Thursday, according to Michael Casagrande of the Decatur Daily. McClain was found guilty on charges of assault, reckless endangerment, menacing, and wrongful discharge of a firearm for an incident on Nov. 30, 2011, in Decatur, Al.

McClain was in Decatur for a funeral last November. He and a man named Jaradious Willingham were arrested after an altercation in which they attacked Rishard Tapscott that night.

On Wednesday, a cell phone video of the attack surfaced. On Thursday, McClain’s co-defendant, Willingham, pleaded guilty to 3rd degree assault before the trial and agreed to testify against McClain. Willingham received 90 days in jail and a $300 fine.

Tapscott also filed a civil suit against McClain and Willingham for damages related to the attack.

McClain will also face discipline from the NFL, most likely in the form of a suspension.
