Tim Tebow Is On His Way To Leading Denver Broncos To The Playoffs

Tim Tebow wasn't even the Denver Broncos starting quarterback when this season began, but with fourteen weeks in the books on the NFL season, many have forgotten about Kyle Orton starting the season with the Broncos. The Tebow hype train has begun to roll and, following Sunday's victory over the Chicago Bears, its next stop just might be the playoffs.

Tebow led the Broncos to a 13-10 overtime victory on Sunday after struggling throughout much of the game. The quarterback completed just three of his 16 passing attempts through the game’s first three quarters for 45 yards and an interception. The fourth quarter was a whole different story, however, as NBC pointed out on Sunday night.

Not only did Tebow complete more passes in the fourth quarter than he attempted throughout the first three stanzas of Sunday’s comeback victory, but he quadrupled his yardage while leading his team in the most clutch moments of the game. His final passing statistics didn’t exactly end up as the most impressive on Sunday from a fantasy football perspective, but he did enough to win -- and in the end, y’know, that’s what matters.

The quarterback is slowly bringing his detractors around to be fans, a highly unlikely outcome considering CNBC’s Darren Rovell posted on Twitter that the majority of his non-fans are due to media hype -- something that isn’t going to end anytime soon as he pushes on toward the playoffs.

Tebow may not be the best quarterback in the NFL (he may be a pretty good running back, though, as Brian Urlacher pointed out on Sunday night), but as long as keeps winning, he will likely continue to pick up fans the same way an unlikely team in the NCAA’s March Madness tournament does each year as they progress through the 64-team bracket.

It may not be pretty, but Tebow continues to lead the Broncos to victory through clutch performances and, now, a possible berth in the NFL’s postseason.
