It's not a surprise, but the Green Bay Packers have the NFC North crown locked up and are well on their way to the No. 1 seed in the NFC. At a perfect 13-0, the Packers hold a five-game advantage over the Detroit Lions in the North and a three-game advantage over the San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints in the overall NFC playoff picture. Both the Saints and 49ers are at 10-3 through this weekend.
NFL Playoff Picture: Green Bay Packers Already Have NFC North Locked Up
The Green Bay Packers already have the NFC North locked up and are well on their way to claiming the No. 1 seed in the conference.
The Lions and Chicago Bears aren't out of the picture, though, and each team is battling for a spot in the wildcard. At 8-5, Detroit currently holds the second wildcard spot, and sixth overall seed in the NFC. The Atlanta Falcons have the same 8-5 record as Detroit, but hold the tiebreaker based on head-to-head win percentage and are the fifth seed at present.
The Bears are on the outside looking in, but just barely. Chicago is one game back of the Bears and Falcons at 7-6 on the year. Chicago ended the week with the same record as the Dallas Cowboys, but holds the tiebreaker based on a better conference winning percentage.
