Michael Boley Accused Of Abusing 5-Year-Old Son

Michael Boley is being investigated on child abuse allegations. The New York Giants linebacker is being sued by the mother of one of his six children for the “repeated willful abuse of a child under 18 from May 30 to June 5.”

New York Giants linebacker Michael Boley is in the middle of trying to lead his team to the NFL playoffs. The veteran will likely have to face questions about his off-the-field behavior while he should be focusing on the Washington Redskins as the linebacker is apparently being investigated on allegations of child abuse.

The allegations of child abuse first came from gossip website TMZ, which reported that Boley is being investigated for allegedly abusing his 5-year-old son earlier this year, but the New York newspapers have uncovered more details as word spreads about the alleged incident.

Boley is being sued by the mother of one of Boley’s six children, according to the New York Daily News, the “repeated willful abuse of a child under 18 from May 30 to June 5.” The Daily News spoke with Boley’s lawyer as well, who indicated that the situation might involve more than what meets the eye.

“She sued him over a year ago for child support,” Kessler told the Daily News via email. “The trial was in October and all she sought was five times the child support.”

A source familiar with the situation confirmed what Kessler told TMZ earlier, that the mother never brought up the allegations during the court case and that “She did not seek an order restricting visitation. The only relief she requested from the judge was that child support be more than quintupled to, in her words, ‘increase her lifestyle.’”

The newspaper also noted that Boley has a past that involved a previous arrest for domestic violence, but that the Giants’ linebacker could not be reached for comment.

Giants spokesman Pat Hanlon said the organization is “aware of the situation,” but that Boley is still expected to play in the Giants’ game against the Washington Redskins.

More information will be posted here as further details are released, but as of now, this doesn’t look like a good situation.
