NFL Playoff Picture: Steelers And Jets Lead AFC Wild Card Race

The Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets lead the way in the AFC Wild Card race.

If the 2011 NFL season ended today, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Jets would make the playoffs as the AFC Wild Cards, but a lot can change between now and the end of the season.

The Steelers, who could be without starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, still have a chance to win the AFC North in addition to settling for a wild card berth. That'll be difficult if they Big Ben isn't available and they have to rely on backup quarterback Charlie Batch.

The Tennessee Titans are also in the Wild Card hunt, as are the Cincinnati Bengals. The Titans have a soft schedule over the next two weeks, facing the winless Indianapolis Colts and the 4-10 Jacksonville Jaguars. If the Titans can continue winning in the final three games as well as get some help from other teams, they could make a late push for the playoffs.
