The Carolina Panthers are visiting the Houston Texans in Week 15 NFL action. In the second quarter, the Texans have been looking largely ineffective against the Carolina defense, while rookie quarterback Cam Newton has led two scoring drives for the Panthers. The Panthers currently lead, 14-0.

A first-quarter touchdown pass from Newton to Steve Smith put the Panthers on top early. In the second quarter, Newton led another scoring drive for the visitors. Carolina traveled 61 yards on nine plays, ending with Newton completing his second touchdown pass of the game on a nine-yard throw to Jeremy Shockey. It was Shockey's first catch of the game. Netwon is 5-for-9 with 77 passing yards and no interceptions.

The Texans have yet to get on the board and are 1-for-4 on third down conversion attempts.
