Apparently, someone didn't inform the New York Jets that they're fighting for their playoff life. They came out completely flat, letting the Philadelphia Eagles jump out to a 28-0 lead in the first half. The Jets got 13 unanswered back, but eventually fell apart all over again in a rather embarrassing 45-19 loss.
NFL Scores Week 15, Jets Vs. Eagles: Philly Torches New York, 45-19
LeSean McCoy and Brent Celek tore the New York Jets to pieces in the Philadelphia Eagles’ 45-19 win.
The Eagles' first score was a defensive touchdown by Juqua Parker, returning a fumble by Santonio Holmes in the first quarter. That would set the tone for the afternoon, as the Jets would proceed to turn the ball over four more times. Philly would make it 14-0 just before the end of the first quarter, when Michael Vick hit Brent Celek for a 26-yard touchdown, one of his five receptions for 156 yards.
Vick and LeSean McCoy scored two quick rushing touchdowns on successive drives in the beginning of the second quarter to give the Eagles a four touchdown lead. The Jets would make the halftime score 28-13 with two Nick Folk field goals and a great touchdown pass by Mark Sanchez to Holmes, but that would be it for the Jets until garbage time.
The Eagles took over in the second half, as the Jets failed to get anything going while McCoy scored two more touchdowns. Sanchez hit Plaxico Burress with a touchdown in the fourth quarter after the Eagles were done with their scoring, but a comeback was well out of reach. The Eagles have kept themselves mathematically alive in the NFC East, while the Jets still hold the sixth spot in a tight AFC Wild Card race.
