Andre Carter Injury: Patriots’ Starter Has ‘Quad-Related’ Ailment, Will Require Surgery

Through the season's first 14 games, the New England Patriots were giving up 308.7 passing yards a game, which would be the worst mark in the history of the NFL.

To make matters worse, it appears New England may be without their best pass-rusher, DE Andre Carter, for the indefinite future:

Breaking: Agent Carl Poston just told me "looks like Andre (Carter) has a quad-related injury that will require surgery."

Carter went down grabbing his leg at the tail end of the first quarter in the Patriots 41-23 over the Denver Broncos Sunday. After a lengthy injury delay as Carter laid on the ground, he was driven off the field in a cart.

A timetable for his return has yet to be determined, but any missed time will be disastrous for New England’s porous secondary, as Carter leads the team with 10 sacks this season.
