Donovan McNabb requested his release from the Minnesota Vikings this week and they gave it to him which means the veteran quarterback now hits the waiver wire. Following his release, McNabb went on ESPN's SportsCenter to discuss his exit from Minnesota as well as his next step.
Donovan McNabb Pitches Himself To New Teams
ESPN’s Jay Harris asked McNabb what he could bring to a new team and he said, among other things:
“You’re getting a veteran that can bring experience. Athletic ability. Not a locker room cancer.”
Will that be enough to convince a team like the Chicago Bears or Dallas Cowboys to make a run at him? Both of those teams issued claims on Kyle Orton (who went to the Chiefs) so they're among two of the teams that many think could issue a claim.
The waiver wire will end at 4:00 p.m. (ET) on Friday by which point we should know which team, if any claimed McNabb.
