The Tennessee Titans' playoff hopes are dwindling after a stunning loss to the previously winless Indianapolis Colts in Week 15, but it appears that the Titans will have star running back Chris Johnson for their critical Week 16 game. Titans beat writer Terry McCormick reports that Johnson did not practice on Tuesday, however.
Chris Johnson Injury: Titans RB Misses Practice But Expected To Play Week 16
After starting very slowly in the 2011 season — just after signing a massive new contract — Johnson has come on in the past two months. He had his three of his four 100-yard games of the season in Week 10, 12, and 13, getting more than 20 carries in those three outings, and has averaged just more than five yards per carry since November began.
Johnson might need a big day to lift the Titans past Jacksonville in Week 16, but it could be slow going: the Jaguars are in the top half of the league in rush defense, and give up four yards per carry.
