NFL Week 15 Players Of The Week: Reggie Bush, Calvin Johnson Honored For Big Games

The NFL announced the Players of the Week for Week 15. Reggie Bush, Calvin Johnson, a couple of sack specialists, a kicker and a punter all made the cut for big outings last week.

Week 15 was one of the more exciting weeks in the NFL. Upsets and comeback wins were the norm last week, and the Player of the Week awards honor some of the most outstanding performances from those games. On this list this week were a pair of 200-yard performances, two players who combined for 7.5 sacks and the leading scoring from the Chiefs historic takedown of the Packers.

Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week. Bush ran for 203 yards and one touchdown as Miami became the latest team to hand it to the sad sack Buffalo Bills. Bush leads the NFL in rushing yards this month.

Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson, the NFC Offensive Player of the Week, caught nine passes for 214 yard and two touchdowns, including the game-winner in the Lions' comeback win over the Raiders. Johnson became only the second receiver this season to break the 200-yard barrier.

Four sacks is a healthy total for a month of work for most pass rushers. San Diego Chargers linebacker Antwan Barnes sacked Joe Flacco four times in a Sunday night upset of the Baltimore Ravens. Four sacks in one game ties Barnes for the most in a single game this season. Atlanta Falcons defensive end John Abraham had three and a half sacks against the Jaguars earned him the NFC award. Abraham also forced two fumbles in the Falcons' blowout win.

All Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop did was account for 12 of the 19 points his team scored as his team made the Green Bay Packers look all to human in their first loss of the season. Succop nailed a 46-yard field goal in that game, and he now has connected on 21 consecutive attempts, tied for the longest streak of any active NFL kicker.

San Francisco 49ers punter Andy Lee became just the second punter this season to win a Special Teams Player of the Week award. Lee averaged more than 42 yards per punt, and put four of his six inside the 15-yard line. The Steelers had an average starting spot between the 10- and 11-yard line.
