Anquan Boldin will undergo surgery Thursday to repair a torn meniscus, according to the Baltimore Ravens' official twitter feed. The news is only bad in the short term however, as he is expected to be ready in time for the playoffs according to head coach John Harbaugh. In the meantime, Boldin will miss the Ravens' final two regular season games against the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Harbaugh said that Boldin's knee "flapped up" following the team's Tuesday walk-through. Though the veteran wideout had a history of injury problems while with the Arizona Cardinals, his time in Baltimore has been relatively healthy. In two seasons with the club, Boldin had yet to miss a game until now.

Torrey Smith and Lee Evans will man the top two wideout spots for the Ravens going forward. Neither of the two speedsters will be expected to make up for Boldin's presence over the middle of the field. The Ravens could turn towards tight ends Ed Dickson and Dennis Pitta even more in the coming weeks as a result.
