While the Indianapolis Colts were at long last able to get over the hump this past weekend, the Houston Texans and their rookie fill-in quarterback encountered their first bump in the road in quite some time.
NFL Draft Order: Indianapolis Colts Will Secure No. 1 Pick With Loss On Thursday
The AFC South champion Texans will try to bounce back as they resume their quest for a potential opening-round playoff bye in Thursday's clash with the bottom-feeding Colts, who'll be seeking to build off their initial victory without Peyton Manning under center in 14 seasons.
If they don't win, however, the Colts will clinch the first pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. The St. Louis Rams and Minnesota Vikings both sit at 2-14 but the Colts would own the tie-breaker if all three teams finish with 2 wins overall. A loss Thursday night would guarantee Indy could do no better than that.
Houston will be trying to make some additional history in what's already been a momentous season when it takes the field on Thursday. The Texans have never beaten the Colts in Indianapolis in nine previous tries, nor have they ever swept a home-and-home set from their division rival in the same year.
