Jason Taylor, one of the greatest pass rushers of all-time, will call it quits this weekend when the Miami Dolphins host the New York Jets. Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports via multiple sources that the 37-year old Taylor plans to retire after the season.

If so, Taylor goes down as one of the all-time greats along the defensive line. He has 139.5 career sacks, which puts him sixth all-time behind guys like Bruce Smith, Reggie White, Kevin Greene, Chris Doleman and Michael Strahan. He has more touchdowns than any other defensive linemen. He was the 2006 NFL defensive player of the year and was voted to the Pro Bowl six times.

Taylor entered the league as the Dolphins third round pick in the 1997 NFL draft and by his fourth year he was an All-Pro with 14.5 sacks. He followed that up two years later with an 18.5-sack season, the best of his career. From 2000-07, he had double digit sack seasons on six occasions and he didn’t miss a game in that span.

Taylor has played 13 of his 15 NFL seasons with the Dolphins so it’s fitting he finishes his career at home in a rivalry game.
