For one more week, John Skelton will be the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, while Kevin Kolb will sit on the sidelines. Kolb is continuing to experience symptoms from a concussion, and for that reason he is likely to sit out the Cardinals' Week 17 season finale against the division rival Seattle Seahawks.
Kevin Kolb Injury: Cardinals QB Likely Out Week 17
Kolb hasn't played since suffering a concussion against the San Fransisco 49ers on December 11. That injury was one of two that have kept him out for parts of this season, and Skelton will make his seventh start of the year when he takes the field on Sunday. The two quarterbacks have performed at roughly the same level, though Kolb was better about avoiding turnovers than Skelton.
While head injuries are terrible for everyone involved and no one wishes Kolb anything but a speedy recovery, this game could be an important one for John Skelton. A spectacular performance could turn training camp into an open competition in 2012.
