Amidst the usual Sunday morning injury chatter, who's in, who's out with a variety of bumps and bruises, one player is suffering from a serious medical condition and is in the hospital for treatment. That's New York Giants offensive lineman Stacy Andrews, who has been hospitalized Sunday with pulmonary embolisms in both lungs. He will miss the Giants' game against the Packers, as reported by the New York Times' Judy Battista.

Battista, however, had good news after the terrifying initial report: he’s expected to be released Monday. A pulmonary embolism is when a blood clot forms in the lungs and, in serious cases (which Andrews’ doesn’t appear to be) can be deadly.

Giants say they think blood clots started in Andrews' legs, broke up and traveled to his lungs. Likely to be released from hospital Monday.

No word on how this will affect Andrews for the rest of the season, but we’re all happy he appears to be OK.
