With his second touchdown of the game giving him 12 rushing touchdowns this season, Cam Newton tied Steve Grogan’s record for most in a NFL season. Grogan set his record in 1976 and scored 35 rushing touchdowns during his 16-season NFL career. The touchdown gave the Carolina Panthers a 31-12 lead over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Newton has also thrown a touchdown, while going 8 of 14 for 153 yards. He now has 24 touchdowns combined this season.
