Raiders defensive lineman Richard Seymour was ejected for throwing a punch at Dolphins offensive lineman Richie Incognito in NFL Week 13 action on Sunday.
ANIMATED: Raiders’ Richard Seymour Ejected For Throwing Punch Vs. Dolphins
Here is an animated GIF, much better than video, of the punch. Worth an ejection? You decide:
The incident occurred late in the third quarter of the game, with Miami blowing out Oakland. Here is more background from Ernie Pomin at SB Nation Bay Area:
Seymour landed a blow to the helmet of Incognito that was obvious to the referees, which immediately flagged him for a personal foul and tossed him from the game. Seymour went to the sideline at first, but had to leave the field of play altogether per NFL rules for ejected players.
Although the punch thrown be Seymour wasn’t exactly a ‘haymaker’ it was still enough to merit the penalty flag and the ejection from the game. For more on the Raiders head over to Silver And Black Pride.
