The Buffalo Bills continued their descent into futility today, losing their fifth consecutive game. The Tennessee Titans beat the Bills by a final score of 23-17, keeping themselves in the hunt for the AFC South title. Besides the win-loss records, the running backs made their presence known in this game.
NFL Scores Week 13: Titans Vs. Bills, Buffalo Loses Fifth Consecutive Game
The Buffalo Bills continued their slide into irrelevancy with their fifth straight loss today. The victorious Tennessee Titans stay alive in the AFC South chase.
Chris Johnson delivered a nice encore to his 190-yard performance last week. He scored twice and rushed for 153 yards on 23 carries, by far the biggest contributor to the Titans' win. Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck did nothing to silence the debate about whether or not Jake Locker should be starting, but he was at least no liability. He threw for 140 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions.
Buffalo got a noticeable contribution from C.J. Spiller, thrust into a starting role after Fred Jackson was lost for the season. Spiller ran for 83 yards on 14 carries, and scored a 35-yard touchdown. Ryan Fitzpatrick connected with Steve Johnson for a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter, but it was too little, too late.
The Bills head to San Diego to take on another team fallen far from grace this season. Tennessee hosts the New Orleans Saints.
