VIDEO: Frank Gore Breaks 49ers Rushing Record

San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore is now in the history books for his team. Early in today’s game against the St. Louis Rams, Gore broke the franchise record for rushing yards, passing the legendary Joe Perry as the team’s all-time leading rusher.

Here is the video of Gore’s record-breaking efforts happening today.

Gore broke Perry’s record of 7,344 yards with a two-yard run. So far in this game, Gore has 46 yards on 14 carries, his longest run being a 20-yarder.

Gore received a standing ovation from the crowd at Candlestick Park during a television timeout. From 2006-2009, Gore set another franchise record with four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. When asked about the record earlier in the week, Gore brushed aside questions, instead focusing on the Week 13 game against the Rams.

He entered this game with 909 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns.

A win today will clinch a playoff berth for the 49ers.
