Andre Johnson Injury: Texans WR Could Be Out ‘A Couple Weeks’

Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson injured his left hamstring in yesterday's win over the Atlanta Falcons. Johnson will have an MRI to determine the full extent of his injury today, but the team believes that the injury is not severe. However, the Texans did acknowledge that they will likely be without Johnson for a short period of time.

Texans owner Bob McNair addressed Johnson’s hamstring following the game.

They say it’s a hamstring, but a typical hamstring injury and not a severe type of injury. Hopefully, it’s one we can deal with and he can be back in a couple of weeks.

Johnson missed six weeks earlier this season with a more severe injury to his right hamstring. Houston survived the loss, thanks in part to strong showings from their defense and running back Arian Foster. They have a two-game lead in the AFC South race right now.

Johnson's injury is one of several high profile injuries the Texans have had to deal with this season. Mario Williams landed on injured reserve early in the season. He was followed there by quarterback Matt Schaub, and Schaub's backup Matt Leinart.
