James Starks Injury: Status Unknown After Sprained Ankle

Green Bay Packers running back James Starks is having trouble getting over his ankle injury. He re-aggravated it in the second quarter of yesterday's game against the New York Giants for the third week in a row. With Green Bay in firm control of their playoff destiny, the Packers may choose to rest Starks, according to a report from the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Starks first suffered the ankle injury against Tampa Bay, late in the game. He rushed back in the mix on a short week for Green Bay's Thanksgiving Day game against the Lions. Starks hurt his ankle again in that game, and spent most of the second half on the sidelines. He left yesterday's game after three carries for five yards.

Ryan Grant did most of the work in relief, with rookie Brandon Saine picking up some extra duty. Of course, the Packers tend not to run the ball very often. Those two would see most of the rushing reps without Starks next week.
