Well, we knew it would happen eventually. The Chicago Bears are now being linked to the 'ol gunslinger, Brett Favre. ESPN Chicago reports that Favre, who is currently retired, would listen if the Bears called him about playing quarterback for them.
Brett Favre Would Listen If Bears Called, According To Report
A report out of Chicago says Brett Favre would listen if the Bears called him to gauge his interest in playing but such a move still seems like a long shot.

We knew this would come up at some point because the Bears, who are in the midst of the NFC playoff race, are playing without Jay Cutler who was injured and backup Caleb Hanie has been less than stellar.
Still, it seems really unlikely this would happen.
First, the Bears have publicly said they’re confident in the quarterback group they have. Head coach Lovie Smith said specifically, “We’re not looking on the outside.” Second, the ESPN Chicago report says it’s “highly doubtful” that the Bears would be interested. Third, just last week Favre said he’s not interested in returning and that he hasn’t thrown a ball in about a month.
So a return for Favre? Seems like a huge long shot.
