The Baltimore Ravens are expecting a key reinforcement just in time for the playoffs. Linebacker Ray Lewis is expected to return to action in Week 15 when the Ravens travel to San Diego for a game against the Chargers, according to a report from the Baltimore Sun. Lewis has been sidelined since Week 11 with a bout of turf toe.
Ray Lewis Injury: Ravens Hope LB Is Back By Week 15
An moderately easy schedule has allowed the Ravens some leeway with Lewis, who had not missed a game since 2007. Baltimore handled the 49ers on Thanksgiving without Lewis. The same report said that the Ravens could have pressed Lewis into action in Week 13 or even this week, but with games against the Browns and Colts, they had the luxury of waiting. One of four AFC teams with a 9-3 record, the Ravens will be looking to lock down a top seed over their last four games.
Lewis, a 12-time Pro Bowl player, has 68 tackles and assists and two sacks this season. He still leads the team in tackles.
