The Houston Texans made a curious move on Tuesday and waived QB Kellen Clemens, who was signed by the team just a couple of weeks ago after starter Matt Schaub was placed on injured reserve due to a foot injury. A week later backup Matt Leinart went down and the team signed Jake Delhomme for depth.
Kellen Clemens Waived By Houston Texans
The Texans signed backup Kellen Clemens in mid-November after losing Matt Schaub to injury but the team has now waived him.

Clemens was listed as the team's No. 2 quarterback behind rookie T.J. Yates and in front of Delhomme.
Yates played well enough for the Texans to win last weekend and they can actually clinch the AFC South title on Sunday with a win and a Tennessee Titans loss.
The Texans are apparently comfortable enough with Yates and Delhomme on the roster (unless they plan on signing someone else).
Clemens was originally drafted by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2006 NFL draft. He has also played for the Washington Redskins. The Texans signed him on Nov. 23.
