NFL Picks, Week 14: What Do The Oddsmakers Say?

Getty Images

The NFL Picks Computer at OddsShark.com pegged the Browns to cover the Steelers in a low-scoring game Thursday and it has predictions on every other Week 14 game as well.

The victory Thursday (Cleveland lost 14-3 as 14.5-point underdogs) moved the picks engine to 49-28 ATS on the year. Sunday's plays point to the Packers covering the spread at home again against the Raiders and the Ravens covering the biggest spread of the week (16 points) at home to winless Indy.

The other big favorites on the week are also forecast to cover the spread, which would be bad news for sportsbooks if all the favorites are covering. The Patriots are favored by 9 at Washington and the Jets are favored by 10 at home to the Chiefs.

The Monday Nighter between the Rams and Seahawks remains off the board due to injury questions but the machine is picking an UNDER with a 16-6 final favoring the hometown Seahawks. Seattle is 12-1 SU in their past 13 games against the Rams.

The computer slumped to 8-8 ATS last week, the first time it has not shown a profit on the season.

OddsShark.com handicapper Mike Pickett disagrees strongly with two of the computer’s predictions: Buffalo to cover 7.5 points at San Diego and Houston defeating Cincinnati.

"We think the Chargers will win out and do so in emphatic fashion and the Bills have been fading for a month so we see a blowout here," said Pickett.

"And no way does Houston hang with the Bengals on the road like the computer is suggesting. Too many injuries, not enough QBs in Texan jerseys and the Week 14 NFL Odds say the Bengals are ready to win here."
